Organizations need innovators to help solve complex business problems, create new business models and develop growth strategies.  Innovators do not grow on trees; so finding, recruiting and hiring them can be a bit tricky.

Leaders should keep their eyes open for innovators and hire them even if they don’t have an open position.

Here are 5 traits of an innovator (be on the lookout):

1.  Innovators are optimistic.

2.  Innovators are natural problem solvers.

3.  Innovators are not afraid to take a chance on unproven innovation.

4.  Innovators are resilient and bounce back in the face of adversity.

5.  Innovators understand complex problems can be solved using a strategic solution process.

The best leaders add innovators to the team, whether they have an open position or not.

Do you?
