Innovation is a hot buzzword these days. Many people talk about innovation, most avoid actually engaging in it. Here are 5 reasons why:
- People are afraid they will lose their job if they fail as an innovator.
- People are afraid they may cause damage to their organization if they fail as an innovator.
- People fall into the “innovation in a box” trap and purchase a prefab technology solution and mistakenly call it innovation.
- People are preoccupied with tactical gimmicks that temporarily improve sales and lift revenue, creating the illusion that things are improving.
- The business problems people are facing appear too complex to solve.
